We have developed this extremely easy to fit, and incredibly effective upgrade module for the Philips CD960 cd player.

Replacing the three main voltage regulators (7812, 7912 & 7505) with low noise, discrete versions developed from our Clarity HC circuits brings huge, instant improvements to all aspects of sound quality. More clarity and definition with extra detail and vastly improved dynamics are immediately noticeable, and with extended use you'll hear a whole load of subtle cues which also really enhance your listening experience.

These regulators supply the servo & laser, and the 7805 supplies the main bulk of the +5v feeds inside the machine including the very important SAA7220 digital filter IC.

  • Low Noise, Discrete & Fast Response Voltage Regulator Circuits
  • High Current FET Output Devices
  • Very Low Noise Voltage References
  • Low Noise Error Amps with Very High PSRR (Power supply noise rejection)
  • Low Noise, Thin Film Precision Resistors
  • Separated Ground Planes for each regulator (3x) for superb noise rejection

To fit the module, you don't even need to remove the lid! Simply unplug your machine from the mains, give it a few minutes for the circuits to fully discharge and then remove the two screws on the rear panel holding the heatsink. Next you just reach inside, undo the connector and remove the original board together with the heatsink. Once removed, undo the three screws holding the original, standard regulators to the heatsink and fit the new module to the heatsink. Then plug in the new module (the connector only fits one way around) and re-attach the heatsink to the chassis. That's it! Enjoy your newly upgraded CD94 and the enhanced sound quality
