Marantz HD-DAC1 Upgrade - Stage 1

In standard form the Marantz HD-DAC1 is a terrific dac. In typical Marantz fashion it provides a great balance between detail and warmth. The analogue section already uses the superb Elna Cerafine & Silmic capacitors.

However, improvements can still be had; improving the digital section voltage regulation brings a more natural sound. Bass is warmer, and the overall tonality of instruments and voices is more realistic. We 

Our Stage 1 upgrade includes:

  • Replacement of the main Analog power supply electrolytic capacitors to Mundorf MLytic
  • CS4398 Dac Regulator upgraded to SPowerD +5v
  • Clocking Regulator upgraded to SPowerD +3.3v
  • Digital Power Supply Electrolytic capacitors upgraded to Panasonic FM Low ESR
  • Magic Pad RFI Absorbers
  • Magic Cloth EMI RFI Shielding
  • Signal path capacitors bypassed
